Aside from spinningbabies and Bradley, I think being/staying active helps - walking, working out, yoga/pilates, etc. Labor is physically demanding and being fit can really help you manage. For mental preparation, read and watch as many birth stories/videos as you can find. All kinds of different things can happen during birth so if you've already thought about what will happen if your labor is very long, baby is breech or not positioned optimally, labor is very quick, etc. it will help you stay calm and make sound decisions in the moment.
We decided to do something a little different for our presentation. Robin, in her 30's, dressed as many of us in this country stereotypically think of a woman in her late 50's. She donned a white wig, half glasses, tweed blazer and gray turtleneck, pearls and sensible shoes. I decided to dress as the stereotypical 20-something (and I'm in my early 50's): jeans, flip-flops, pink-streaked hair,Cheap Cincinnati Bengals Jerseys, cropped top, and denim jacket.
